Weddings At St. James

The Book of Common Prayer notes that Christian marriage is, “a solemn and public covenant…[made] in the presence of God.” In this sacramental rite, the couple formally enters into a relationship like that between God and God’s people – one which is characterized by, “fidelity, monogamy, mutual affection and respect, careful, honest communication, and the holy love which enables those in such relationships to see in each other the image of God.”
The Episcopal Church’s marriage canons apply equally to heterosexual and same-sex couples. St. James welcomes all who wish to make this lifelong commitment in a Christian context.
If you are interested in being married at St. James, please read the guidelines linked on this page carefully. Please contact Julie Groppe, the parish wedding coordinator (jwgroppe (at) gmail (dot) com), or the parish office for more information.
